“[…] Nature has always occupied a special place in the history of art, and contemporary artists also appropriate this theme. Art cannot remain outside of the great questions of our time any longer. Thus, many artists take up ecological questions, themes linked to nature and, more broadly, a living approach to their practice. Sculpture, photography, textile art, prints, drawing, or even digital art: all visual disciplines are concerned by these embodied and poetic creations. The themes of hybridization, biomimicry, eco-design, but also metamorphosis inhabit these works and question our times. Valérie Belmokhtar went to meet men and women from five continents, for whom art is a way of reconnecting with living things and celebrating its diversity and resilience.
